First funds from IPARD II Programme allocated

The Agency for Financial Support of the Agriculture and Rural Development has allocated Friday the first funds of the European Union’s Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance for Rural Development (IPARD II).

Director of the Agency for Financial Support of Agriculture and Rural Development Nikolce Babovski after his visit to a farm in Grusino said Friday that record 898 contracts were signed with a total amount of €15.6 million, of which individual farmers will receive €11.7 million through European funds.

Babovski also added that the total number of signed contracts is expected to reach 900.

Agriculture Minister Ljupco Nikolovski said that €60 million are planned to be distributed from the EU’s IPARD II Programme for investments and modernization of agriculture.
