First group of Israeli tourists arrives in Ohrid

A charter-flight of Tel-Aviv based tour-operator “Arkia International” has brought late Thursday the first group of 110 Israeli tourists to Ohrid.

The first “Arkia International” flight to Ohrid opens a new Israeli-Macedonian corridor and offers a possibility for the guests from Israel to enjoy in the natural beauties of the Ohrid Lake, cultural treasury of Ohrid and Macedonia in general, TAV Macedonia General Manager Zoran Krstevski said at the welcoming ceremony.

As of today, “Arkia International” is launching three Tel-Aviv-Ohrid charter flights a week and by October 23 it should bring about 5,000 Israeli tourists to Ohrid.

Arkia International VP Marketing & Sales Anat Aharon expressed belief that Macedonia, considering its natural beauties, history, cuisine and above all its friendly citizens, would soon become one of the attractive holiday destinations for Israelis.
