Gruevski attends EPP summit in Brussels and meets with Mogherini (Photo-Video)


VMRO-DPMNE leader Nikola Gruevski, together with a party delegation, held talks Wednesday at the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels  with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini.

The central event of the visit of the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia to Brussels is Thursday’s European People’s Party (EPP) Summit, the largest parliamentary group in the European Parliament, whose associate members is VMRO-DPMNE .

This EPP Summit, which is taking place at the Royal Academy of Belgium, apart from Nikola Gruevski, is also attended by Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, as well as Prime Ministers Mariano Rajoy (Spain), Nikos Anastasiadis (Cyprus), Klaus Johannis (Romania), Boyko Borisov (Bulgaria), Viktor Orban (Hungary) Andrej Plenkovic (Croatia) and Leo Varadrak (Ireland).

This afternoon Nikola Gruevski is scheduled to meet with the rapporteur for Macedonia in the European Parliament, Ivo Vajgl.

Gruevski and the VMRO-DPMNE delegation are expected to use the occasion to promote cooperation and to accelerate Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integrations, given that the agenda for urgent membership of Macedonia in the EU and NATO is a top priority of VMRO-DPMNE and its leadership.
