Kicevo – Ohrid highway to cost additional 187 million euros

The new third annex to the agreement with the contractor for the construction works of Chinese “Sinohydro”, which was adopted Friday by the Government after the one-year negotiations, determined the additional funds announcing the intensification of the construction works for the 57-km long Kicevo-Ohrid highway.

After a year of negotiations, we managed to make savings of 95 million euros. If we continued with the realization of the agreement at the old prices, the additional works would cost 282 million euros, and with the new ones, that amount is now 187 million euros, said Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Koco Angjusev at a press conference, stressing that the project has been brought into proper condition.

The additional 187 million euros, once the annex is adopted in Parliament, will be provided with a loan from the Chinese Exim Bank.
