Macedonian airports passenger growth exceeded European average

The number of passengers at Macedonia’s airports “Alexander the Great” in Skopje and “St.Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid, managed by TAV Macedonia, has risen by 18.5% in the first half of 2014 compared to last year.

“The rise of passengers in Europe is between 5-6%, whereas the number at Macedonia’s airports has increased threefold. ‘Wizzair’ has opened is base at the Skopje airport and flies at new destinations, whereas ‘Alitalia’ has launched the Skopje-Rome flight”, said TAV Macedonia general manager Zoran Krstevski on Friday.

Moreover, the Skopje-based airport has received two consecutive “Europe’s Best Airport” awards of the Airports Council International, in the category of facilities under two million passengers per year.
