Macedonia’s cadastre agency introducing address register

Macedonia’s Agency for Real Estate Cadastre on Friday has started establishing a new address register for the entire territory of Macedonia. The institution and the company GDi Gisdata signed a contract to implement a pilot project for data preparation and app development for field address data collection for four municipalities in the country.

At the moment, provisions of laws and bylaws not precise enough are being applied as well as standards not precise enough to record street names and standards to enumerate special types of facilities are lacking, according to the Agency’s head, Slavce Trpeski.

“An address register is deemed one of the key registries in the country. It will include spatial data for streets and house numbers while being linked with the spatial unit register. Thus, all those interested will have the chance to get all information regarding addresses online from the Agency for Real Estate Cadastre in a swift and effective way,” Trpseski told a news conference.

The contractor, he added, is bound to carry out an analysis and process address data from existing bases of several state institutions for a field check-up via a mobile tablet app.

GDi Gisdata CEO, Dejan Krstevski said the project was based on a world-renowned platform and would be implemented in line with the law on national spatial data infrastructure.

Field address data collection will be undertaken in the municipalities of Kisela Voda, Zelenikovo, Sveti Nikole and Gostivar. The process should be completed by the end of 2017. The Agency said the contract was estimated at 113,000 euros.
