Macedonia’s pavilion at Venice Biennale opens


The Pavilion of the Republic of Macedonia within 56th edition of Venice Biennale will open Thursday at Arsenale ­ Sale d’Armi exhibition venue in Venice. Deputy Culture Minister Dragan Nedeljkovic is to address opening ceremony.

Macedonian official represenatatives are prolific and internationally recognized artists Hristina Ivanoska and Jane Caloski who will present with project ‘We re all this alone.’

Basak Senova is the first foreign curator appointed to the Macedonian Pavilion and Commissioner of the Macedonian pavilion is the National Gallery of Macedonia supported by the Ministry of Culture and deputy curator is Maja Cankulovska Mihajlovska.

The 56th International Art Exhibition, titled All the World’s Futures and curated by Okwui Enwezor, will be open to the public as of Saturday, May 9th at the Giardini and Arsenale venues.

The Venice Biennale was founded in 1895 and it is now one of the most famous and prestigious cultural organizations in the world.
