Milcho Manchevski teaches and shoots film in Cuba

Macedonian director Milcho Manchevski has been engaged to teach at the International Film and Television School (EICTV) in Havana, Cuba. Manchevski in January will teach undergraduate students in filmmaking, an international group of students from around the world. He is professor and supervisor of student films of undergraduates. At the same time Manchevski will shoot a short film in Cuba.

Manchevski will answer questions from the audience following the screening of feature film “Before the Rain,” S­Press informs.

Manchevski’s works are very famous in Cuba and all his feature films and book of photographs “Five Drops of Dream” are included in the EICTV’s library. Cubans became acquainted with Manchevski’s work in 1995, when “Before the Rain” was among the five nominees for the Oscar for best foreign film along with Cuban “Strawberries and Chocolate” by famous Cuban filmmaker Tomas Gutierrez Alea, S­Press informs.

Milcho Manchevski lives in New York City and teaches directing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Graduate Film and TV.
