Mother Teresa academy in MANU

The Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) observed the Mother Teresa sainthood at a formal academy on Tuesday.

“We observe the sainthood of Mother Teresa with pride and humility”, said MANU president Taki Fiti at the academy.

He recalled that Mother Teresa opened the first home for the hungry and the sick in 1952, later spreading throughout the globe.

“Mother Teresa’s grace made her a saint during her life”, added Fiti.

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska said today’s academy is part of the rich agenda of religious, cultural and scientific events across Macedonia that mark the historic event.

“Mother Teresa’s life has become a unique testimony of the endless sacrifice for the other”, stressed Kanceska-Milevska.
