MPs support law amendments towards fines’ harmonization

The Parliament supported Wednesday the urgent adoption of law amendments that harmonize fines’ provisions.

Vice Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski elaborated the changes valid for the laws on VAT, personal income tax, profit tax, mandatory social insurance fees, registration of cash payments, tax procedure, excise, customs and customs administration, resulting in the harmonization of fines.

“Fines for legal entities will be measured according to principles and criteria that take into account the size and economic power of the company, revenues, number of employees, prior offences. Since this is a simple change that is reflected in all laws, we propose their urgent adoption”, stressed Stavreski.

A number of other laws will also be urgently amended for the purpose of harmonization.
