Pavlopoulos: Macedonia veto remains and is non-negotiable

Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos has once again lashed out at Macedonia, saying the country “forges history”.

During a visit to northern Greece, Pavlopoulos said the Greek veto regarding Macedonia’s NATO and EU accession is non-negotiable.

“Cynics, forgers of history, who are unfortunately the heirs and successors of a culture of totalitarian regimes, as can be seen by their recent brutal behavior against refugees, do not have the right to feign friendship with Greece and, furthermore, it is inconceivable that they delude themselves that, with such attitudes, it would be possible for them to join the EU and NATO. The Greek veto is a given and non-negotiable”, said Pavlopoulos.
