A total of 2.841 refugees were registered after crossing in from Greece to Macedonia in the 24 hours between Sunday and Monday morning.

The group included 1.090 men, 657 women and 1.091 accompanied minors, with three unaccompanied minors also crossing the border. By nationality, there were 1.303 Syrians, 848 Afghans and 690 Iraqis. They all signed on a statement of intent to claim asylum, which allows them to move freely through Macedonia for up to three days – time most of them are expected to use to leave the country through the northern border with Serbia.

This brings the number of refugees registered in Macedonia since the beginning of the year to a little over 68.000, half of them Syrians.
