President Ivanov meets Bulgarian leaders, will attend the SEECP conference in Sofia


Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov is in Bulgaria for meetings with President Rosen Plevneliev and Prime Minister Boyko Borisov. Beginning on Wednesday, Ivanov will take part in the Process of Cooperation in Southeast Europe (SEECP) conference which will bring leaders from across the region.

“President Ivanov will discuss the bilateral relations with Bulgaria, current developments regarding the Euro-Atlantic integrations and the migrant and refugee crisis with President Plevneliev”, Ivanov’s Office informed.

During the SEECP conference, Ivanov will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Nikola Poposki, at a meeting that will include the Presidents of Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Moldova, the Prime Minister of Romania, and top officials from Greece, Croatia, Slovenia and OSCE.

“In his remarks, President Ivanov will re-affirm Macedonia’s position as an active and constructive partner in the region and one strongly dedicated to promotion of principles of good neighborly cooperation and reconciliation. Macedonia is in favor of improved infrastructure ties in the region that will bring in more economic development, commerce and foreign investments”, Ivanov’s Office informs.
