President Gjorge Ivanov held Friday a meeting with the new Chief of the NATO Liaison Office in Skopje, Navy Captain Gorazd Bartol.

In the meeting, Ivanov expressed gratitude for the ongoing cooperation and preparedness for further close cooperation and support from the NATO Liaison Office in the sphere of defence and security.

“As regards Macedonia’s aspiration to join NATO on the eve of the Warsaw Summut, President Ivanov called on the partners in the Alliance not to ignore international law, not to ignore the verdict of the Hague International Court of Justice, the geo-political aspect and challenges in our region noting that Macedonia should assume its rightful place as a member-state in NATO as soon as possible,” read the press release.
