Procedure for constitutional revision is still not finished, Zaev tells Avaz

The decision of MPs to initiate constitutional revision will accelerate Macedonia’s accession to NATO and EU, says Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in an interview with Sarajevo daily Avaz.

The decision of MPs to initiate constitutional revision will accelerate Macedonia’s accession to NATO and EU, says Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in an interview with Sarajevo daily Avaz.

PM Zaev says the procedure for constitutional revision is still not finished, but several stages in the process have been completed. He voices assurance that the process arising from the Prespa Agreement will be concluded, thus opening Macedonia’s path towards NATO and EU.

“We are sending a clear message to the world that we are taking the road of stability and progress after decades of conflicts in the Western Balkans. MPs made history last week, which will be acknowledged by future generations,” says Zaev.

The PM adds that the Parliament’s decision was endorsed by MPs from all political parties, including the two ethnic Bosniak deputies.
