VMRO-DPMNE holds major protest rally on Wednesday

VMRO-DPMNE begins its announced series of large scale rallies on Wednesday, when supporters of the main opposition party will march from its offices to the Government building ,beginning at 17h.

The choice of the venue is symbolical, given that the VMRO-DPMNE office building was target of a police siege two weeks ago, ostensibly over a manhunt for former party leader Nikola Gruevski (who was by then well on his way to Hungary). Party officials and members were searched by the police, apparently reinforced even by Military Police.

VMRO leader Hristijan Mickoski said that the party is under an obligation to lead the people against the SDSM led Government because the situation in the country is alarming.

– We will protest against the tax hikes and against the air pollution, against the political persecution and the changing of the name of the country, against their inability to secure markets for our apples and tobacco. We must raise our voices before it’s too late
