VMRO will persevere through these politically orchestrated charges and remain at the side of the people

VMRO-DPMNE issued a press release in which it charges the Special Prosecutor’s Office of political bias in its actions and of trying to criminalize the right of citizens to protest against a second demolition of an important religious shrine. “Prosecutor Fatime Fetai is acting against the constitutionally guaranteed rights of protesters who expressed their anger at the policies pursued by Zernovski and SDSM. Fatime Fetai and Katica Janeva are ignoring millions in damages caused by the paid vandals for the recent ‘revolution’ and are going after a protest that caused 20 EUR in damages”, VMRO-DPMNE writes, referring to the recent SDSM led protests in which many landmarks in downtown Skopje were targeted with paint, and some buildings, such as President Ivanov’s downtown office, were broken into and their interior was destroyed.

VMRO-DPMNE adds that there is political reasoning behind the charges filed by the SPO, which they accuse of coordinating with SDSM in the period ahead of the early elections scheduled for 11 December. “VMRO-DPMNE has sustained much more serious assaults. We will persevere through these politically orchestrated charges and we remain at the side of the people”, the party adds.
